Urban regeneration: pilot project in the Satellite district of Pioltello
15 April 2025
Intesa Sanpaolo participated in the urban and social regeneration pilot project involving the Cimarosa 1 apartment building in the Satellite district of Pioltello (Milan).
More specifically, Intesa Sanpaolo contributed to the redevelopment of common parts and the renovation of 34 out of 209 flats, which were subsequently reallocated at reduced rents.
The project has generated social and economic value for the area, offering rehabilitated housing at an affordable cost and improving the quality of life in the district.
"This social housing project represents an ambitious and effective model of collaboration between public entities and a private operator such as Intesa Sanpaolo, fully in line with the social mission of the Group led by its CEO, Carlo Messina. It is a concrete example of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group's commitment to the most fragile, with the hope that it can be replicated in other cities"
Pierluigi Monceri, Regional Director Milan, Monza and Brianza of Intesa Sanpaolo
The intervention has returned living spaces and more efficient services to the neighbourhood, with a total value of €2.5 million.
The initiative is the result of a memorandum of understanding with the Prefecture, the Court and the Municipality of Pioltello to implement a social housing intervention through a public-private partnership
