Intesa Sanpaolo recognised among the most sustainable companies worldwide
Milan, February 11: Intesa Sanpaolo’s commitment to sustainability has recently been recognised by two major authorities on the subject. For the third consecutive year, it was the only Italian bank to appear in the Global 100 Index, which ranks the world's most sustainable listed corporations and is compiled by Corporate Knights, a Canadian magazine specialising in sustainability. Intesa Sanpaolo sits in 80th place out of approximately 7,500 companies, analysed on the basis of 21 indicators in the fields of environmental, social and governance. Furthermore, the bank was included in the 2018 Climate Change A List of the non-profit Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) for its commitment to fighting climate change and its strategy in favour of the environment, in particular its support of a low-carbon economy. These recognitions come just days after the inclusion of Intesa Sanpaolo in Bloomberg’s 2019 Gender Equality Index (GEI), which assesses the commitment and actions on gender equality of the main listed companies across all business sectors worldwide.
